The Lyndale Neighborhood Association (LNA) is currently seeking experienced candidates to serve as its Office Coordinator. This is a part-time position, 20 hours a week, that is key to supporting LNA's community building activities.
General job responsibilities fall into two main categories:
First, provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Community Organizers, including staffing the front desk, routing mail and faxes and phone calls, help with mailings, keep database updated, keeping supplies and forms stocked, minor bookkeeping support, keep phone mail system updated, develop and support system to get information that we get in the office available to residents, and other administrative office support as directed by the Executive Director.
Second, work in a team with Lyndale residents and staff to organize LNA's projects and programs, including outreach support for general membership meetings, logistics of various community events, coordinating LNA's external communications (the monthly newspaper, the website and Lyndale's e-list), monitoring and supporting LNA's public-access computers, and other general outreach support for Lyndale neighborhood activity.
Qualifications:
A competitive candidate will have:
Understanding of administrative support activities in community-based organizations; direct professional or volunteer experience in a similar position a plus
People-friendly, with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide-variety of people
Self-starter with good personal organizational skills
Computer proficiency a must; knowledge of how to support computer systems, including website maintenance, a plus
Demonstrated experience working with volunteers a plus
Bi-lingual and knowledge of the Lyndale neighborhood a plus
Compensation:
The salary range is $10 to $12 an hour, with pro-rated benefits, and will be negotiated based on experience and prior salary history.
