The Minneapolis Arts Commission is pleased to announce four openings on the Commission beginning in 2005. Interested persons have until Friday, October 15, 2004 to apply for one of four appointments. The Arts Commission was created by ordinance in 1974 to foster the development of the arts, to seek financial support for the arts, to advise the City Council on arts-related matters and to stimulate participation in and appreciation of the arts by all Minneapolis residents.

The four current vacancies on the Arts Commission are for terms that began February 1, 2004. Two of these positions are for arts administrators and two are for laypersons that have demonstrated a keen support for the arts. Two of the positions will be Mayoral appointments and two will be City Council appointments.
