NRP Policy Board Adopts Conflict-Of-Interest Policy

MINNEAPOLIS, October 1, 2001 - The NRP Policy Board adopted a conflict-of-interest policy at its meeting on Monday, September 24, 2001. While the NRP already had ethics rules in place at the time the policy was adopted, the board wanted to strengthen these rules in order to encourage public confidence in the NRP process and outcomes.

The new policy supplements but doesn't replace federal and state law governing conflicts of interest applicable to government, non-profit and tax-exempt organizations. The policy addresses how members of the board, the directors, officers, members and employees of neighborhood organizations that receive NRP funds, members of neighborhood NRP committees, and the employees of NRP should proceed when a potential conflict of interest occurs.

The conflict-of-interest policy is now online. You will need a copy of Acrobat Reader to view the policy.
